Timothy Angel

Originally from Washington State, Timothy Angel is a dedicated performing artist and teacher now residing in Lubbock, Texas. He is currently attending Texas Tech University where he is completing his Doctorate of Musical Arts in violin performance. As a violinist, Mr. Angel has won numerous competitions. In 2015, he was a prizewinner in the Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra National Young Artist competition, where he then performed the Violin Concerto in a minor by Alexander Glazunov with the symphony the following May. Angel’s other solo engagements include works by Sarasate, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Jean Sibelius. Currently, Mr. Angel is working towards the final recital in his program, which he will take on tour next summer to perform at the Fringe Music Festival, held in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Mr. Angel holds a BA in violin performance from Whitworth University and an MM in violin performance from the University of Texas at Arlington. Currently, he works with the Suzuki Talent Education of the Lubbock Region and is founder and director of the Suzuki violin program at Ramirez Elementary School in Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Angel is currently the principal second violinist in the Lubbock Symphony.
